What is the shelf life of the JUMP Nutrition products?
All bars have a shelf life of 10 months from the date of manufacture.
The dry powdered drink mixes have a shelf life of 24 months.
I own a retail store (or am opening a new retail store) and would like to carry JUMP Nutrition products. How can I do this?
If you are interested in purchasing JUMP Nutrition products by the box, please call our Distribution at 800.506.9701.
Please use the Contact page to send us an email or call us at 800.506.9701 so we can send your company’s information to the appropriate member of the Retail Team.
Is it safe to consume the products past their "best by" date?
Although it is safe to eat JUMP Nutrition products after the "best by" date, we recommend that you use JUMP Nutrition products by the "best by" date to ensure you're getting the full nutritional benefits of the product.
I just bought a bar and noticed it is past the "best by" date. What should I do?
We remind retailers to rotate stock appropriately and remove any product which has passed its "best by" date. Unfortunately, since our retailers have so many different products in their stores, it may be difficult for them to always stay on top of this task. Because of this, consumers should also check the "best by" dates before purchasing.
We recommend you take the product back to the store where it was purchased and request a refund or replacement.
Do you have any bars that can be used in an emergency disaster kit?
Because they are low in fat and less vulnerable to spoilage, JUMP bars would be useful in an emergency kit. We recommend you check the kit every 15–18 months and rotate product as necessary.
Do you offer product donations to our troops overseas?
While we would like to say "yes" to all the donation requests that we receive, JUMP Nutrition cannot honor individual donation requests, as our resources are fully committed to our corporate giving program.
How can I get JUMP Nutrition to provide bars/powder for an upcoming community sporting event?
JUMP Nutrition sponsorship can include supplies, product sampling booths and even listings on our site. To have your event considered for JUMP Nutrition sponsorship, please send us an email or call us at 800.506.9701.
Unfortunately, not all requests for sponsorship can be honored.
I have food allergies. To which ingredients in the JUMP Nutrition products could I be allergic?
JUMP bars may include as ingredients, or contain traces of, milk, peanuts, nuts, soy or gluten. If you have a life-threatening allergy or sensitivity to any of the above, please read the food label or visit our site where the ingredients of each brand and flavor is listed. You should contact your physician with any questions or concerns.
The products containing common allergens will be listed on the ingredients list in bold. If you do not see your allergen listed here, please inspect the ingredients list or discuss with your physician before consuming this product.
Which, if any, of the JUMP Nutrition products are gluten-free?
None of our bars would be appropriate for gluten intolerance, as they may contain gluten at some level. Please speak with your physician.
"Gluten-free" is a claim not yet defined by the FDA, but there is a proposed definition under consideration. Traditionally, "gluten-free" simply meant that the product contained no ingredients that were a source of gluten harmful to those with celiac sprue/gluten intolerance — rye, oats, wheat and barley, as opposed to gluten from corn or rice, which is not harmful.
Oat gluten has recently been determined not to be harmful to people with gluten intolerance, but because they're a raw agricultural product, oats can contain some wheat due to common processing, transportation, etc.
Are the bars okay for children to consume?
Although many JUMP Nutrition bars are designed to help meet the sports nutrition needs of athletes, they can and often are consumed as snacks by individuals who aren't necessarily exercising at the time they're eating the bars.
For adults and teenagers, snacking on our JUMP Nutrition bars is absolutely fine, and just like with any and all foods, you want to make sure that you are balancing calories consumed and calories expended such that you maintain a healthy weight.
We recommend that children eat a variety of foods. Children have unpredictable appetites, often preferring sweet foods. JUMP Nutrition bars are a nutritious addition to a young child's diet. For older children, a whole bar would be a fine addition to a balanced diet. Children require more energy than adults during sports activities to help keep fuel levels up and avoid exhaustion. Still, we do not recommend parents using the bar as a substitute for a variety of nutritious foods in the child's diet. Also make sure your child consumes the bar with plenty of water or juice for hydration and digestion.
JUMP Nutrition bars consumed in small amounts are fine as an occasional snack, but the bars should not make up a large proportion of the total calories children consume on a regular basis.
Are any JUMP Nutrition products certified kosher?
Yes, our entire line of Jump Bars are Kosher certified.
Can I use the bars as a meal replacement?
We do not recommend JUMP Nutrition bars to be used as a meal replacement. The bars are a balanced food, providing between 110–300 calories (depending on the bar), high-quality protein, simple and complex carbohydrates for quick and sustained energy, and 16–23 key vitamins and minerals (depending on the bar). The bars are suitable for a healthy snack rather than a complete meal. We recommend eating JUMP Nutrition along with a variety of foods for a well-balanced meal.
Are JUMP Nutrition products vegetarian or vegan?
Our products are made with the healthiest ingredients on the planet and we will be sure to notify our loyal clients when we start offering vegetarian and or vegan products.
Will JUMP Nutrition products make me gain weight?
Anything in excess amounts will have an effect on the body. In theory, consuming more calories than what is needed by the body for proper daily function will cause a weight gain. The origin of the calories does not matter.
JUMP Nutrition products are not meant to replace nutritious meals, but can be used as a supplement to a healthy diet when consumed between meals or used before or after exercise or another activity.
Use the Activity/Calorie Calculator to find the body's burn rate for over 70 activities.
Can I lose weight with JUMP Nutrition products?
While our bars and beverages are excellent products for athletes and active people, they are not specifically designed to be your only source of calories and essential nutrients. To lose weight effectively, you need to burn more calories than you consume. Although our JUMP Nutrition products are not designed as a weight loss product, they provide lots of essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and they can be enjoyed as a healthy snack anytime.
The most effective diets for losing weight are those that are balanced and largely based on eating reasonable servings of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, and nuts. These are foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other important natural compounds, and they tend to be low in calories.
Combining intake of these types of foods with plenty of exercise is the best way to manage weight. Use JUMP Nutrition products as healthy snacks or for sports nutrition purposes before, during, and after exercise.
What is a sugar alcohol? Is it related to drinking alcohol?
Sugar alcohol is a man-made carbohydrate that is not metabolized like sugar. For people who monitor their sugar intake, products with sugar alcohol is probably a more sensible solution. Maltitol is a sugar alcohol used in some JUMP Nutrition products that is made from maltose (malt sugar) and is nearly as sweet as sucrose.
Maltitol is slowly metabolized, giving it approximately 2 calories per gram, or half the amount of typical carbohydrates, and does not cause blood sugar and insulin to spike. This reduced caloric density makes maltitol a common ingredient in carb-control foods.
